HOW IT WORKS

G-Squared Foundation will award ten, one-time $10,000 scholarships among outstanding high school recipients and ten, one-time $5,000 scholarships among outstanding community college recipients pursuing careers in the music industry. Scholarships will be divided by semesters (high school recipients: $5,000 Fall 2023 and $5,000 Spring 2024; community college recipients: $2,500 Fall 2023 and $2,500 Spring 2024).   

Applications for 2023 scholarships are to be submitted between February 1 and April 30, 2023. Awardees will be notified by email to attend a scholarship award banquet in May or June.  More details will be provided.

Applicants must be a graduating high school senior or current Community College student in Houston, TX, with a GPA of 2.5 or higher, attending a two-year or four-year institution majoring in Visual and Performing Arts or Audio and Visual Technologies (Live Entertainment). Additionally, students will have to maintain a 2.5 GPA their first semester and complete a minimum of ten (10) community service hours, in order to receive the remaining balance for the spring semester.

Graduation Requirements

Must be a graduating high school Senior with a 2.5 GPA or higher or a Community College student majoring in the visual and performing arts including tech/crew with a 2.5 GPA or higher

Transcript

Must provide a scanned copy of official high school or college transcript during the application process.

Application

Submit a video essay link expressing the need for the scholarship along with a brief demonstration of your entertainment skills. Video should not exceed 10 minutes and should be uploaded to YouTube (visibility should be Unlisted).

Educational Requirements

High school applicants: Attend a two or four-year institution majoring in Visual and Performing Arts or Audio and Visual Technologies (Live Entertainment) and enroll as a full-time student. Community College applicants: currently enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at a Greater Houston area two-year institution majoring in Visual and Performing Arts or Audio and Visual Technologies (Live Entertainment).
